In order for your signs to be ADA compliant, you must have a legal and professional braille translation for directional signage and instructional signage. Using a braille font is NOT a correct or legal translation. VLS Graphics can provide legal translations because we are licensed to do so. If you are wondering what kinds of signage require braille, go to the U.S. government's website for the American's with Disabilities Act. You will find all legal specifications required by law. Please feel free to consult VLS Graphics as well. There are three ways that raised braille can be manufactured. The most popular is our patented Pinpoint™ process using beads. Beads can be placed in acrylic, metal, wood and most other substrates. Photopolymer can also achieve this raised texture that complies with the law. The third way is called Hog-out and is not really used anymore. This method is like reverse engraving. Either method can be used to obtain the required braille necessary. |
